The Chirelstein story may have inadvertently steered the press to take a second look at Mrs. Clinton’s commodity trades. We stand by the accuracy of the quotes directly attributed to Chirelstein. Nonetheless, we regret not clarifying what information he had access to and any resulting misinterpretation. We didn’t seek comment from the White House because it had appointed Chirelstein as a designated expert, but we should have. We regret the errors.
