The 10 CONMEBOL teams are spread across two groups of five nations each, with every team playing four matches. The top two teams in each group reach the four-team knockout stage, while the third-placed teams in each group will slot into the fifth-place match.
Games began on Friday, July 8 and the final will be played on July 30 in Bucaramanga. The tournament serves as qualification for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, the 2023 Pan American Games, and the 2024 Summer Olympics.
The top three teams qualify for the World Cup, the top two teams qualify for the Olympics. The third-placed and fourth-placed finishers will qualify for the World Cup intercontinental playoffs. The third-placed, fourth-placed, and fifth-placed teams qualify to the Pan American games, unless hosts Chile occupy any of those places, at which point the sixth-place finisher will qualify instead.
