TMZ reporter Charlie Cotton is apparently known to McGregor, and once again got on the featherweight champion’s bad side, with a query relating to possible veiled racism used by the Irishman during his press conference with Diaz on Wednesday.

“Do you think your opponents are running scared? This is the second time in a row this has happened,” Cotton asked, referring to a fighter pulling out of a bout against McGregor.
“What do you think?” McGregor replied.
Cotton said, “I think so.” McGregor replied: “Well, there you go. So do I.”
Then Cotton asked: “You called (Diaz) a ‘cholo’ (an anti-Mexican slur) in there. That’s kind of racially motivated. Did you mean to say it like that?”
That’s when McGregor snapped back: “Mate, shut the f— up and get away from me. Remember that Jesus s— you brought up? It was such a stupid question. . . . You’re an idiot.”
McGregor was referring to a previous interview with Cotton, in which his responses led to public backlash after McGregor claimed he could “whoop (Jesus’) ass” in a fight.

The Aussie could see the humor in it, however, posting an old selfie with McGregor on Instagram:
Well played, Charlie, well played.
