Despite Vegas’ traditional importance in hosting fights, White appears to think his superstar can get along just fine without it.

“Conor McGregor doesn’t need Nevada,” White said in the same interview. “He could fight anywhere. We could put his fight on the island off the coast of anywhere.”

McGregor is scheduled to fight Eddie Alvarez for the lightweight title in New York’s Madison Square Garden on Nov. 12 at UFC 205.
