The Knicks and Blazers finished their qualifying games with a 3-1 record and while five other teams held the same record (Raptors, Bucks, Celtics, Thunder, and Bulls), the Knicks and Blazers advanced to the championship game thanks to superior point differential.

The first Las Vegas Summer League was played in 2004, featuring six teams. In 2004, the Celtics, Cavaliers, Nuggets, Magic, Suns and Wizards played a 13-game schedule, but no champion was crowned.
In each year since, the event has grown and since 2018, all 30 teams have participated, with the Warriors winning the first Summer League championship in 2013.
