Anthony and Joseph Russo directed four key moves in the long arc of the MCU, beginning with 2014’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier. They followed that up with the three movies that shaped the arc of Marvel Studio’s Phase 3: Captain America: Civil War, Avenger’s Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. With their seven year Marvel saga complete, the Russo Brothers will look both back and forward during their Hall Comic Con panel, which is expected to cover both Endgame and their new production company, AGBO.

This is the big event, but Marvel Studios is keeping it under wraps. The description promises only Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige and “surprise panelists.” While the panel is likely to focus heavily on tie-in shows coming to the Disney Plus streaming service, we’re also anticipating a full roll-out of Phase 4. Possible movies highlighted include Black Widow, Doctor Strange 2, Black Panther 2, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Thor 4, Shang-Chi and The Eternals.
With Disney’s acquisition of Fox complete, there’s also a slim chance we’ll hear how the X-Men and Fantastic Four could fit into the future of the MCU. “The slate that we’re building over the next five years [is] not apples to apples,” Feige told io9, comparing the upcoming Phase 4 with the existing MCU library. But Marvel Entertainment is bringing more than movies to Comic Con. Other highlights include the Marvel Games Panel, which will showcase Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order, Iron Man VR and Marvel’s Avengers by Square Enix. The Marvel Games Panel will be held Thursday at 1:30 PDT in Hall H.
Marvel Comics will also make an appearance in Room 6A for the Marvel Comics Next Big Thing Panel, which will finally unveil Jonathan Hickman’s House of X and Powers of X series, long billed as the biggest change to the X-Men in decades.
The Marvel Comics Next Big Thing Panel will be held Friday, July 20 at 1:45 PDT.
