Don’t get it twisted, I wouldn’t want to be anyone other than Nick Birdsong (OK, maybe I’d like to be LeBron James or Michael B. Jordan or the Prince of Zamunda), but my point is that my life, like anyone else’s, is awesome when I’m doing what I want to do.

So often, though, we find ourselves doing what others want us to do because it’s part of not being a horrible human being. I’m not even talking about working. My job is amazing. (winks at bosses). You have to do what you have to do. I’m talking about that stuff that, though we might not want to admit it, none of us really want to do. Things such as attending your significant other’s friends’ weddings and hearing about how someone else’s vacation or engagement photo shoot went.
