High school students are able to take AP courses, in several different subjects. At the end of the year, students take an exam and those who score a three or higher can potentially qualify to earn course credit at their chosen college or university.

Even before some students began their school year, they could see when they would be responsible to take the exam. College Board, the organization that administers the exam, had testing dates listed on its website. Testing dates varied based on the course and ran from May 4, 2020, until May 15, 2020.

The first day of testing kicked off with three different exams. Students would take the United States Government and Politics exam at 8:00 a.m. local time, the Physics C: Mechanics exam at noon local time and Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism at 2:00 p.m. local time.

The rest of that week’s schedule was outlined as:

May 5, 2020: Calculus AB, Calculus BC at 8:00 a. m. and German Language and Culture Human Geography at noonMay 6, 2020: English Literature and Composition at 8:00 a. m. and European History, Physics 2: Algebra-Based at noonMay 7, 2020: Chemistry, Spanish Literature and Culture at 8:00 a. m. and Japanese Language and Culture, Physics 1: Algebra-Based at noonMay 8, 2020: United States History at 8:00 a. m. and Art History, Computer Science A at noon

Exams would take a hiatus for the weekend and then resume on Monday with a schedule listed on College Board’s website as:

May 11, 2020: Biology at 8:00 a. m. and Chinese Language and Culture, Environmental Science at noonMay 12, 2020: Seminar, Spanish Language and Culture at 8:00 a. m. and Latin, Psychology at noonMay 13, 2020: English Language and Composition at 8:00 a. m. and Microeconomics, Music Theory at noon. May 14, 2020: Comparative Government and Politics, World History: Modern at 8:00 a. m. and Italian Language and Culture, Macroeconomics at noonMay 15, 2020: Computer Science Principles, French Language and Culture at 8:00 a. m. and Statistics at noon

Students who had multiple exams at the same time could take one of the exams at a later date and an alternate form of the exam would be used.

Exam fees hover in the hundred-dollar range and cost $94 per exam and $124 for exams at schools outside the U.S., U.S. territories and Canada. AP Capstone Exams also cost $142.
