Crawford entered the night needing two 3-pointers to overtake Ellis. He finished with a 5-of-8 mark on 3-pointers and parlayed his success from behind the arc into 21 points. He now has 1,723 3-pointers and will continue to climb the list.

“I was at a game when (Ellis) hit eight or nine threes in Seattle,” Crawford said, according to the team website. “To me, I’m not in that level as far as shooting, so to hear the names is unbelievable. Steve Nash, I passed last year — like, I’m not a shooter like Steve Nash. To pass him is pretty cool.”

Even more impressive, Crawford scored within the flow of the game and helped the Clippers gain separation in a 113-92 win over the Charlotte Hornets.

“My gosh, it’s amazing just watching him,” Rivers said of Crawford. “Today down the stretch, he really was the separator. He makes crazy shots. He’s just a great scorer. That’s what Jamal is. It would be very frustrating guarding a guy like that.”
