MORE: Week 9 bowl projections

“I just remember catching the ball, making a move, going north and after that, I don’t remember anything at all until I got back to the training room,” Gallman said, via Independent Mail. “It was like I went to sleep and woke up in the training room. I saw a video of myself walking off (the field). I don’t even remember that.”

There was outrage among fans who felt like Wright had targeted Gallman. The NCAA rules state: “No player shall target and make forcible contact against an opponent with the crown (top) of his helmet.” That looks like what happened to Gallman, but after review, the ACC defended the no-call ruling.

The outrage was heightened after comments made by NC State coach Dave Doeren during an interview on his show.

Below is an excerpt from their conversation:

Gallman was not pleased, to say the least.

Doeren: “Yeah we did, you know, I mean we knocked their tailback out of the game…”

“I wanted somebody to hurt (Wright) that was in the game if they could,” Gallman admitted. “I wasn’t able to be in.”

Clemson still needs to clear Gallman before he can return Saturday night against Florida State. He missed all of practice during the team’s bye last week, although he feels confident that there’s nothing wrong with him.

“Of course I don’t think I have (a concussion) because I’m ready to play,” he said. “I’m not going to tell y’all I’ve got a concussion. They said I had one so I had to go to concussion protocol.”
