In a game against Gardner-Webb, Clemson head coach Brad Brownell called a timeout they didn’t have. Even the announcers were confused by the situation. When technical free throws are shot the announcers finally realize what happened. The free throws put Clemson behind 72-70 with 6.6 seconds left. They had their chances at the rim but missed at the final buzzer.
After the game, Brownell owned up to his mistake.
You have to love the irony of losing to Gardner-Webb due to a situation mostly characterized with Chris Webber.
