McDonald was down on the field for almost five minutes after he started convulsing. He was alert and received treatment by Cincinnati’s medical staff right before halftime, according to cincinnati.com, which cited an UC spokesperson.
McDonald’s mother told ABC that her son has a history of seizures, according to USA Today. However, it’s unclear if that’s what happened.
McDonald started his college career with the Crimson Tide as part of the 2017 recruiting class, and appeared in 11 games last season for Alabama. He’s in his first season with the Bearcats after announcing he intended to transfer in April. He was granted an immediate-eligibility waiver by the NCAA.
