In 2019, Norris hosted a 5K run in Texas to raise money for one of his charities. As each runner crossed the finish line, they were given a high-five my the man himself. Everyone left with a broken arm, except Norris himself.
There was no Norris race in 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The coronavirus tried penetrating his Lone Wolf Ranch in Grimes County, Texas, but now the virus is in retreat. Not just in Texas, but all of America.
Chuck Norris now wants to hold another race, and not just for those in the Brazos Valley of Texas, but for all of America and the soldiers fighting for the country.
Norris, the famed actor and master martial artist, is holding a virtual run for folks. It consists of the following formations: 5K, 10K and 13.1 miles, which is half a marathon.
Each participant receives a bib number, complete with the master himself giving a roundhouse kick above your number, and a medal that has Norris scissoring one leg into the air. For just $8 more, the runner can receive a moisture-wicking shirt that commemorates the race.
There’s no exact start date for the race, nor a specific route. Runners who register online have two separate options: Receive just a race bib and medal of Norris kicking into the air, or spend an extra $8 to also receive a moisture-wicking t-shirt that has Norris slogans across the chest.
The race is completely virtual, which means you can do it from a city park, the city streets, your neighborhood or a treadmill. Race organizers ask for people to send their photos, and times, to them. If you don’t think anyone is watching, Chuck Norris is always watching.
Here’s what it says on the website organizing the race:
“Chuck Norris doesn’t run, the world moves under him! Chuck invites you to join him in this officially licensed virtual challenge. Earn an amazing, limited edition 5.25” spring-loaded ‘Roundhouse Kick’ Chuck Norris medal to add to your medal collection (yes, it actually kicks)!
“Chuck Norris can tie his shoes with his feet, and here is your chance to try too! This Medal Dash virtual run challenge allows you to simply run or walk 5K, 10K, or 13.1 miles anytime, anywhere during the event period🏃
“$5 from each registration into this event will go to ‘Kickstart Kids’, an award winning in-school character development program that uses karate to teach life-changing values to middle school and high school students. Kickstart Kids was founded in 1990 by martial artist, actor, and philanthropist Chuck Norris with the help of President George H.W. Bush.
“Time waits for no man. Unless that man is Chuck Norris. So sign up quick before this one sells out!”
According to the race’s registration website, “Medal Dash Virtual Run/Walks can be completed anytime/anywhere: the treadmill, your neighborhood, or at the nearby park. Anywhere you choose! Simply register and invite your friends, choose a route and your post-event party destination afterward to celebrate your victory.”
