The model and entrepreneur suddenly returned to her 1.5 million Twitter followers after she wrote on Instagram on March 25 that it was not trolls or bullies that drove her away but it was her decision and that she had to come to terms with negative public opinions of her.
“Turns out it feels TERRIBLE to silence yourself and also no longer enjoy belly chuckles randomly throughout the day and also lose like 2000 friends at once lol,” Teigen tweeted Friday morning, declaring her return in a post that has garnered more than 44,000 favorites, 1,200 retweets and counting.
“I choose to take the bad with the good!!,” Teigen added, who is married to singer and songwriter John Legend, in reply to her own tweet.
Many Twitter users chimed in with humorous replies to Teigen’s tweets that announced her return after 23 days of absence.
“Wellity wellity well. if you think you can just waltz back here after abandoning us, you are very correct,” David Mack, the deputy director of breaking news at BuzzFeed, wrote to Teigen.
“This is like when my first college boyfriend and I broke up and I cried every day while emailing him from the student lounge, but then we got back together and it was all good,” Twitter user @STFUParents tweeted.

@TheRealHoarse user on Twitter said: “I’ve been surviving off of one cheese log since you left and took your cooking videos with you. It isn’t even good cheese. Welcome back.”
“I’m done with twitter! No I’m not! Yes I am! Just kidding! Changed my mind! Here I am! Make up your mind girl,” @MsJordannS tweeted.
Twitter user @caitlincarrickm replied to Teigen’s tweets on Friday and wrote: “how have you been what’s going on do you have any fun anecdotes i have missed you dearly,” which prompted the Teigen to issue a joke in response.
“I’ve spent weeks just saying tweets to shampoo bottles,” Teigen said.
Before Teigen returned to the platform Friday, her final tweets on March 24 emphasized that she cared for her followers and she said “I encourage you to know and never forget that your words matter.”
Now, it is clear that Teigen is here to stay on Twitter for now.
