The news comes days after the Cardinals reportedly offered Johnson a one-year contract, which indicates both sides are ready to come to an agreement.
Even though there are several running backs on Arizona’s roster, Johnson has veteran experience. He recorded 8,628 rushing yards and 51 touchdowns in seven seasons with the Titans and the Jets.
With Andre Ellington healthy again and rookie David Johnson week-to-week with a hamstring injury, it’s unclear where Johnson will fall in the depth chart.
Johnson was released from the Jets in February after just one season.
