Footage of Ollie’s cute cosplay has gone viral on TikTok, having been liked 2.4 million times in two days.
Owners of the affable four-legged friend kicked off the 23-second-long TikTok clip with the caption: “I dressed my Dog as his favorite character for Halloween.
A blue platypus human onesie is then seen being cut, stitched and tailored to fit handsome hound Ollie, who is thought to be based in the U.K.
The pet, which boasts 1.9 million followers on TikTok, is then seen being proudly taken for a walk in his platypus costume on the scariest night of the year.
Ollie also carries a miniature fabric pumpkin in his mouth, while the costume’s head is customized with a matching dark brown fedora hat.
To the accompanying music of Jack Stauber track “Oh Klahoma,” Ollie is viewed in the next scene staring anxiously at a creepy-crawly, along with the captioned text: “He didn’t like the scary spider.”
However, the next clip finds a more contented Ollie with some tasty additions to his goody bag and the shot explaining: “A sweet old lady loved his costume and gave him some treats.”
Newsweek has contacted Good Boy Ollie’s owners for an update about the viral clip, which has generated more than 23,000 comments.
One of the top-rated responses to the TikTok video was made by It’s Way, who wrote: “Ollie melts our heart, he’s so precious! Great job on his costume!
Another popular comment by Cars! wrote: “Oh imagine if it was all doggoes in costumes on Halloween. And everyone gave out dog treats [pleading face emoji] Yes please.”
And reassuring one commentator’s concerns the old lady had given Ollie chocolate—which is poisonous to the animals, Good Boy Ollie’s owners wrote: “Don’t worry, they were dog biscuits. She had a packet in her bag for dogs that she meets.”
While this video offers evidence pets and Halloween go hand-in-hand, a cat’s spooked reaction to encountering some scary decorations has gone down a treat on the internet.
